Tribal Literary Festival

The tribal study meet.

Tribal Literary Festival is, however, a festival for the tribal educated, intellectuals and the students. Prior to the festival a sort of movement is created among the people showing how importance it is for the tribal people to have an established literature of their own. Literary articles in the form of poems written in tribal languages like Oraon, Munda, Kisan, Kharia, Sadri and Kenta, and in other common and academic languages like Odia, Hindi and English are called for. A selection is made of these articles and the anthology is published in the form of a book.

The purpose of these festivals is – to instil in the minds of the tribals literary interest and to raise tribal writers and poets. Two such tribal literary festivals were conducted before the Covid-19 which resulted in the publication of two books: 1. The First Step, 2. Mohul Phool (Mahua Flower). These books were solemnly released on the occasion of the Tribal Literary Festival. Music and dance, poem recitation, story reading, inspirational talks etc. solemnized the event greatly.
