Despite notable interest of some researchers and writers, much of tribal realities are virtually untouched in the scholarly and academic circle. Tribal realities of various individual tribes of the state or the country, their history, social organization, life, culture, dance, music, traditions and practices are unexplored and unnoticed by the people. These need to be explored, studied and researched so that people know about these lowly and marginalized people.

Sanskruti Kendra ventures into this field with earnest so that in course of time it will have much knowledge about these people to present. Prime interest of the Centre is to concentrate on those tribes about whom virtually no information is available in the literary or academic field. It is a challenge to seek out those people, talk to them and draw some presentable information about their life, culture and various situations. Research tours are conducted to far and near for such researches by the inmates of the Kendra; the Kendra also assists other researchers to do the same for their own research.

Sanskruti Kendra has a tangible tribal library with hundreds of books that helps the students, scholars and seekers in their studies and research about various tribes of Odisha and of other states of India. Students from colleges and research scholars from the Universities take recourse to this library for their dissertation and thesis. Number of such researchers visiting this library is growing by days. Residential facility and food offered to such researchers go a long way to encourage assist these researchers in doing their work.
